Warbirds over Wanaka 2006
Theme for 2006 was "The 10th Anniversary"
of the bi-annual Airshow
Photos - Three Russian's on Display

(1024x768 @ approx. 90 - 180k)
This Show was a fitting display for 10th Anniversary of "Warbirds over Wanaka" and a tribute to Sir Tim's support over the years needed to establish an event of this nature. It is hoped and expected that the local community trust will carry on the fine tradition established, and the quality of aircraft present to ensure a lasting legacy to the vision of Sir Tim.
The products of New Zealand's Aircraft Restoration industry were again in evidence in the DH aircraft, P40's and the LA-9.
The resident aircraft like Polikarpov's providing a distinct sound and sight yet again. The aerial specialists were there performing their routines. The usual good selection of support types and a large and varied ground display selection again created a "not to be missed" Easter weekend.
The Air Force, Navy and Army, made available a good selection of aircraft and some polished displays were given. The "Flying visit" of a "Flaming Aussie" in the form of the F-111 doing its famed burn-off of dumped fuel was a crowd favorite. The climactic final "all in" battle with ever improving pyrotechnics was as ever a fitting end to a fine days experience.

Classic Fighters Marlborough 2005
The Theme for 2003 was "Ground battles of WW1"
The Star attractions of the show were the WW1 aircraft again. With the new additions and along with the increased ground based attractions made this again an excellent special to watch.
Other WW1 aircraft to be seen were Fokker D.VIII, Sopwith Camel, Bristol F2B Fighter, and Airco DH-2.
The ongoing support and development will see new and interesting aircraft finish restorations and take to the air for future`shows.
The variety of non WW1 aircraft added to the atmosphere of the entertainment along with the amazing "Battle field" reenactments on the ground involving large numbers of Military vehicles and soldiers provided a lot to take in and watch.
The location of Marlborough is one of the finest Wine areas of NZ along with the superb Sea, River and Lake fishing make this an area of many things to do for all the Family and friends of Airshow Visitors.
